Dear Friends,
We are proud to present a new series of Seminars with Sensei Jerry Figgiani (Shorin Ryu) and Sensei Thomas Casale (Shotokan) on the connection between the Pinan Katas of Master Itosu’s Okinawan Karate and the Heian Katas of Master Fanakoshi’s Japanese Karate. Both Sensei Figgiani and Sensei Casale are experts in the form and function of these Katas and have done extensive research on how these Katas developed through history. In this series of seminars, students will learn all 5 Pinan/Heian Katas, their history and the Bunkai (combat application) of the signature Kata movements. Students who attend all 5 Seminars, will be awarded with a beautiful 11X17 certificate of program completion in the advanced study of Pinan/Heian Kata. Space is limited, so please register A.S.A.P.! 2013 The Year of the Snake
Time for wisdom to take the lead and bring us back to the basic choices of success and cooperation.
Five years have come and gone the NYTKL has launched the model for success and cooperation in American Traditional Sport Karate and Kobudo . It is now time to bring everyone to this table and bring our tri-state area to the top level of participation for our officials and competitors.
We need the best efforts from our current members to attract proper additional members and clubs.
The pool of Officials and Organizers need your help.
It takes much to do this so The Old AAU dream must be re-awoken, many of us aspect the 70′ and 80′s in that cause. We now have another generation with renewed inspiration the job can be done.
